My Top 10 Healthy Living Tips!

10 – Eating a healthy diet: This is easier said than done for me. I love candy and chocolate! But I try to eat salads and make fresh fruit smoothies as often as I can. 9 – Getting outside: If you know me, you know I spend as much time outdoors as possible. I try to go for a short afternoon hike with my cat every day, rain or shine. Then, on the weekends, I usually plan to do a longer adventure outdoors – sometimes I go for 8 hours runs on Sunday during the Summer up in the mountains!

8 – Having friends: You’ve got to have a good group of friends who care about you. I try to see them as often as I can. Some live out of state so when they visit me in Colorado, it’s fun for me to take them hiking, biking or something else like that. During the summer, I usually go camping with my friends – even in my backyard sometimes!


7 – Good work/life balance: I work a lot, but I try to stay relaxed throughout it. Like I said, I try to take a short break every day to go hiking or something to get away from my desk. My weekends I try to keep to just fun stuff and not work if I’m able to. Then, that way when I’m back on Monday, it feels like an exciting start to the next week!

6 – Drinking plenty of fluids: When I’m in the office or I’m out on the trail, I always have a water bottle nearby. It sounds so basic, but a lot of us don’t drink enough water throughout the day. This is especially true when you live at a high altitude like we do in Colorado. The thin air just seems to dry you out faster up here. I also make my own coffee drinks, fruit smoothies and other healthy, tasty drink treats.

4 – Setting a Routine: This is a challenging one for me. I try to wake up every morning at the same time, go to bed at the same time, and in between, I try to keep my schedule as normal as possible.
