Reno/Tahoe Adventure Blog
Hmmm… is there a place in the world that has the most beautiful, crystal clear water and is surrounded by lofty mountain ranges? There sure is. Lake Tahoe!

And we can’t forget the biggest little city in the world: Reno, Nevada! I used to live in this area a number of years ago and it was amazing. I decided that I had to go back and share with you just how incredible it all is!
Northern Nevada has just about everything you could imagine when it comes to adventure! I tried to do a little bit of everything in the 4 days that I was there – from mountain biking, kayaking, hiking, white water rafting even climbing up the side of Whitney Peak Hotel in the city of Reno itself. The largest outdoor climbing wall can be found in Reno and you better believe I climbed that guy all the way to the top. Not a bad view of that big, little city from up there!
If you haven’t been over to Lake Tahoe than you have truly missed out. Just a short hop, skip, and jump from Reno and you’ve made it to one of my favorite places in the country! The lake itself looks like it was ripped out of a fantasy novel. And it is huge!!! You could traverse this lake for years and years before exploring the entirety of it. Simon and I were able to go kayaking on the lake. Nothing better than floating out on the water on a beautiful day. Note that I said floating, as I tried to keep Simon from getting too wet out on the water. Though, he didn’t seem to mind very much!

Of course I had to go to the tallest peak in the area, Mt. Tallac. A lengthy hike up, but well worth it in the end. I’ve been to a ton of peaks out in Colorado, though there is something different about this one. It could be the bright orange sun that lights up your way for you soaring above majestic Lake Tahoe. Whatever the reason, it is by far one of the best spots to watch a sunset and sunrise.
There is so much adventure to be found in the Greater Tahoe region. Four days is just not enough, but Simon and I’s adventures had to come to an end at some point. After the beautiful hikes and a refreshing dip in a hidden cove, it was time to drive the long journey home. That long drive gave me some time to reflect on this crazy epic — which is always welcome. I am not exactly sure when I will be back but I know that I will be soon!
If you haven’t made it out to this oasis in Northern Nevada, than you are missing out! Book your trip now so you too, can see what all the hype is about!
Until next time, Reno/Tahoe!
