Winter Fitness, Recovery, & Supporting Your Immunity
Hey guys! What a year it’s been. I hope everyone is safe and doing well as we move into the new year – 2021! Sounds great to say, doesn’t it?! I’ve got some big plans – places I want to go (like the Carribean again), people I want to see (like my family in California), but most importantly, I want to maintain my health and well-being as I did this past year. With all the added stress 2020 brought to our lives, many of us have had lower energy and weakened immune systems – So, I was determined to maintain good health over the last year, and that’s exactly what I did.
This time last year I had just started a partnership with MitoQ – they make a truly revolutionary, advanced CoQ10 antioxidant that directly targets the mitochondria in the trillions of cells that make up your body. Mitochondria are the powerhouse of the cell that FUELS all your body’s functions – thoughts, actions and emotions. But like a phone battery, overtime the charge goes down. This can affect how your body and mind function on a daily basis.
And as a fitness fanatic – I want to maintain my energy and recovery levels so I can continue trail running, mountain climbing, and doing all the other outdoor activities I moved to Colorado for, day after day! So after I researched it more online myself, I started taking MitoQ. I’m always skeptical of new supplements, but I trust it because it has been the subject of 9 clinical trials and over 400 peer-reviewed independent research papers by institutions including the Harvard Medical School, UCLA, Oxford, Cambridge, and the Mayo Clinic.

Throughout this year I’ve tried to keep up my diet and exercise. I eat as healthy as I can – lots of whole grains, fruits, nuts, fish – and even some greens I’ve grown in my garden. Plus I work out religiously, every day. Some days I go for long trail runs, others I exercise in my home gym, and today I worked out in my backyard using these “battle ropes” that give you an amazing upper body workout. Part of my fitness routine is trying to incorporate creative and unique exercises like this that keep me excited and motivated about working out.
This fall and winter have gone by so fast. I love working up a sweat on beautiful cold crisp days – even if it’s just chopping down my Christmas tree, it feels great to get your heart rate up and feel like you’ve accomplished something for the day! So go run around your block, go sledding, or do something else fun and unexpected.
Plus with my work, I can’t afford to take time off – especially around the holidays (who can relate!) – so I rely on MitoQ’s immune support so I can power into the winter when my team is counting on me the most. Research has recently shown that there may be a connection between our immune function and our mitochondria function, and seeing how good I’ve felt this past year, there definitely could be.
In 2021, I’m going to continue taking MitoQ, try eating a little less candy (my one weakness), and hopefully will continue to see small improvements in my fitness like I have this past year! So click here to learn more about MitoQ and maybe you’ll try it out for yourself like I have. I’m glad I did!
Friends – this is a sponsored blog post but all the thoughts and opinions are my own.
